Midterm Curve

Dear Class,

The midterm is graded.  The total is out of 60 points.  The departmental 
curve is as follows:

	54 <= A <= 60
	48 <= B < 54
	40 <= C < 48
	29 <= D < 40
	      F < 29

I have posted your grade out of 60 as the raw score and then curved these
scores according to the above table.  The resulting percentages appear as
the standardized score.

Beneath this line is the MTAVG, your total cumulative grade.  This score 
is obtained by computing a weighted average of the percentage scores for
webwork, Exam 1, the four best of the five quizzes and the midterm.

The weights were assigned as

	7.5  webwork
	10   quizzes
	14   exam 1
	16   midterm exam

and cumulative average computed by

     7.5 * webwork% + 10 * quiz% + 14 * exam1% + 16 * midterm%

                                47.5
