There are two versions of this book: the brief version and the regular version. The M119 syllabus has been designed with the brief version in mind. The brief and regular versions are identical for the first five chapters, the first differences occuring in Chapter 6. The regular version of the book is for students who plan to take M120.

This book contains sample exams from 1995. Although the main text used in 1995 was different from the one we are now using, the syllabus has remained unchanged. There are also review exams posted on the web.
