verify the availability of your final class meeting space.
[28-Nov-11] College of Science Poster Competition
The 2011 College of Science Poster Competition will be held on Monday
November 28th in the Joe Crowley Student Union Ballrooms A and B.
Please encourage all of undergraduate and graduate students to
participate in this student competition. There are cash prizes
for the winners in both the Undergraduate and Graduate categories.
We had a record number of undergraduate and graduate submissions
last year and we are hoping for another successful showcase of our
students work!

The computing committee soliciting your requests for computer hardware,
software and other technology related items you would need for your
teaching or research duties.
We hope to get your request by November 20, 2011.

This Saturday 10/22 between 9:00-noon we will participate at the
Intermountain Math Competition. Please announce to any of your

Thursday September 29 we will hold our annual shindig in
the conference room 315 at 5:30 PM. Please
announce to all whom you think might be interested and ask
them to let me know by Wednesday if they want pizza.

The Provost has scheduled a meeting with the entire department
for 3:00 in DMS 315 to discuss details of the budget reduction plan that will
be announced April 5. All faculty are encouraged to come.

This year the UNR Putnam team came in 100 out of 450 competing teams
with two of our team members scoring in the top 12 and 15 percent.

Dr Sascha Schnepp from the Computational Electromagnetics Group
at Technical University Darmstadt will be speaking on the
Discontinuous Galerkin Method and its Application to the
Maxwell Time Domain Problem from 2:30-4pm in DMS 103.

[24-Jan-11] Annual Reviews Due
Even though there is no merit money,
annual reviews are required. The use of digital measures is important
for calculating the productivity of the department and
individual members by central administration.
Please include your 2010 role statement
percentages with your self evaluation.
The chair needs all annual reviews by January 24.
